It's Finally Friday!

Exercise, exercise, exercise - how is everyone doing? Please share how you're getting your 30 minutes in each day - are you changing it up?  What is your biggest struggle this week? I'm finding "avoiding sweets" much easier than I did a few days ago - how about you?  It makes it easier knowing I can treat myself on Sunday - I'm so going to have a Coke Zero in the fridge Saturday night, so it can be cold and ready!

  1. I'm running in the mornings-1/2 marathon training. Not eating after 7:30 has been a big change and I'm going to miss being able to have date nights or movie nights with food involved. :(

  2. this week will shape up to be four days running and two cross-training with weights. I go to bed hungry every night- for some reason my body is not done eating at 7 each night! I've decided that in my world, I wouldn't consider syrup and jam to be considered "treats," but I'll follow the rules! Maybe if I was obese or trying to make a major lifestyle change cutting those things out would be a big deal, but they aren't to me. I had syrup on my waffles this week and didn't even realize it until later in the day that I had broken a rule. major bummer. oh well. The eating changes aren't as important to me as the exercise and the spiritual habits... those are fun for me when I get to check them off each day! Also, how do we feel about taking a day other than sunday off? Perhaps having a treat on a saturday rather than sunday... anybody have an issue with that?

  3. I'm running and using the Active game on the Wii for a mixed workout.

The no sweets rule isn't nearly as hard for me as the no eating after 7:30! I hear you Amberly--I go to bed hungry too. I just keep reminding myself that I am burning calories OFF my body during that time!

Is is possible to have an off day with different things on different days? Ie, cheat and have a Coke on Friday, but no sweets, cheat and have dessert on Saturday, no exercise on Sunday, etc. Just wondering. Thus far I have earned all of my points!

  4. Sundays only off! With not doing exercise on Sundays already, plus Fast Sundays throwing a wrench in the plans of our "weekly" challenges as well, it's best to keep our "free day" on Sunday. Keeps it simple - you can have desserts any day you want, you just won't get the points!

  5. I am doing treadmill workouts along with walking to and from the park with my niece and nephew. While they play on the swing sets or jungle gym I walk the perimeter of the park instead of sitting and watching them play. I am also doing aerobics and yoga...started doing situps and push ups so I will be ready for those challenges. Biggest problem is dreaming about Sonic slushes.

  6. Mmmmm... Sonic... maybe you can go get one tonight and keep it in the fridge until tomorrow!

  7. I'm with Amberly, I thought the whole syrup/jam thing this week to be very stressful. I'd already been going without desserts since February, but I felt seriously deprived not having my PB & J every day. I actually may have even over-reacted slightly (started crying) at one point when my husband said that we shouldn't have any sweet and sour sauce with our lunch at chick-fil-a. I think he was sorry to have brought it up. :)

The exercise motivation has been very good for me and I'm hoping this week will be less challenging and stressful.

  8. Funny. I thought about the same thing when having sweet and sour sauce today with my stir fry (wouldn't have had it yesterday). You lived through all six days, though - now it's over - I will be writing a new post clarifying the differences between sweets and desserts this week, don't worry!
